The roles
We won’t sugar coat it – these jobs are physical and the work can be in harsh conditions. It’s important to know that candidates will need to be able to do the following for up to 28 days in a row:
- walk 10-20km a day in the sun
- consistently carry a 10kg crate
- bend to pickup 1kg nodes at least 220 times per day
- stomp into the ground with leg/foot at least 200 times per day
Specific duties for the line crew include:
- Loading, unloading and transferring of seismic acquisition equipment
- Ground placement and collection of nodal equipment
- General site duties (cleaning, general labouring)
- Observe health, safety, environmental, quality and cultural requirements at all times
In return, you’ll be provided with:
- daily pay rate starting at $326.58/day, increasing to $349.76/day after 3 months
- flights & transport to and from site (including $163.29 pay on travel days!)
- free accommodation (usually shared with one other person)
- free food (all meals)
- All required PPE & tools

Who we need
In addition to the physical requirements of the role, all candidates will be required to have:
- Strong English communication and organisational skills, and be able to read and write
- The ability to work for long periods in harsh environmental conditions
- Ability to work, travel and be accommodated with other staff in shared/close quarters
Other essential criteria for candidates include:
- Manual driver licence
- ISI inductions
- The below training modules:
- PMASUP236 – Operate Vehicles in the Field
- RIIVEH201D – Operate Light Vehicle
- RIIVEH305E – Operate and Maintain a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle
- In some cases, Police Check (National Police Certificate)
